Players recognised at end of season awards

Friday 29th April saw the latest gathering of club members, the first ‘live’ event for over 3 years, as players were recognised for their efforts and achievements over the course of the past season at the 2022 Awards Evening.

With almost 200 players, coaches, volunteers and family members in attendance, the event gave the opportunity for coaches to speak about their playing squads and pinpoint some highlights of the season.

Individual awards were presented to players who have shown individual progression, have been instrumental within their teams both as players and as teammates and those who were selected as the ‘Players Player’ – an award voted on by the players themselves to select the one player that they felt deserved to be singled out for special recognition. The club also awarded the ‘Club Member of the Year’ Trophy to the individual who has worked hard in all aspects of club life, including the development of other players and contribution to the wider Plymouth Basketball Community.

A raffle was also held on the evening which included prizes such as a signed Plymouth City Patriots ball, a signed Plymouth Argyle FC ball, as well as individual donations from Plymouth City Patriots trio, Elvisi Dusha, Joe Hart and Rashad Hassan. We were very lucky to receive many more donations from various companies around the city which helped us to raise a total of £392.00 on the night. We thank all of those companies and individuals for the kind donations.
