Plymouth Basketball club launch new brand identity!

Plymouth Basketball Club are excited to launch their new brand identity. The new logo, colour scheme, kit, and font are intended to symbolise Plymouth’s proud traditions and was designed in partnership with award winning graphic designer Nick Dell 'Anno.

The logo incorporates a front facing view of the Mayflower, sitting on top of a basketball whilst the green colour scheme proudly continues the tradition of many of Plymouth’s sporting institutions. The kit features a green gradient that reflects the rolling hills and tors of Dartmoor.

Chairman Steve Spurrier said about the rebrand “the heart of our club is the young players and the city we are proud to represent.

It was important that our new name and brand reflect the tradition of the club as well as representing our core goals and values, which are to develop young players and promote the game in the city and beyond.

We are really excited about the next chapter for the club and can’t thank Nick of Dell 'Anno studio enough for helping our vision become a reality.”

Designer Nick Dell 'Anno added “The Plymouth Basketball Club came to me with a branding challenge. How to position them within the city as their own entity; be an established sports charity, represent Plymouth, be current and sit side-by-side within the wider basketball community.

We ran some research with the coaches and players and found some amazing insights. This directly influenced the new identity.

Dell 'Anno Studio sits proudly as the clubs design partner and continues to create their kit, marketing material and website.

Each year the studio supports a charity to help them elevate to a position they would otherwise struggle to reach. It's an absolute pleasure to see how this will power the club and ultimately enrich the young players.”

Even though there has been a change of name and branding the club’s core mission of providing ‘basketball for all’ within the city remains at the heart of all we do.
