Latest Round up

Hi Everyone,

Apologies for the delay since the last round-up, it’s a busy time of season for the club with planning for post season full on and the last few games of the National league season coming think and fast over the last few weeks with plenty of travelling!

Since our last round up of games the Under 18s have played two tough games against Dorset and Salisbury and losing out on both occasions, this weekend sees the last game of the season for Under 18s as they travel to Dorset on Sunday for what will be a tough game.

Under 16s Nationals also played Salisbury and Dorset and came out on top on both occasions huge credit to the Under 16s who had to walk the last fifteen minutes to the venue in Salisbury when the minibus decided it needed a rest! Unfortunately, this last weekend the winning streak could not be maintained as they lost in a very competitive game to local rivals Cornwall.

16s National are due to play Salisbury at home this week (If Salisbury can find there way out of their hometown) and are away for the final game of the season on Sunday again in Dorset. 16 Regional travel to Taunton this Saturday the 12th to take on Huish Tigers.

Under 14s travelled to Taunton and managed a strong win on the road and Under 12’s went on their first road trip of the season and although not coming away with the wins, coach Dan was very pleased with the young team’s progress.

In other news we were delighted that four of the clubs’ players were successful when trying out for The Southwest Basketball England Aspire programme after a gruelling four days in Bristol during half term all were invited back to continue to train with the best junior players in the Southwest.
Huge congratulations to Harvey, Toby and Josh at Under 13’s and Isaac at Under 15’s.

We are approaching the last few weeks of team practice before we have a break for Easter and then come back for our post season and summer programme. I’m sure you will be pleased to know that summer league will be back after its COVID break and we can’t wait, plenty of details over the next couple of weeks, so watch this space. We will also have full details of the club’s presentation and awards night in the next few weeks when we can all get together once again to celebrate our players successes through the season.

Like I said lots going on, and that’s not even mentioning the new kit launch, so stay tuned!!!
