Plymouth basketball club x veo

Coaches in many sports know the benefits for players in watching video of their performances to build confidence, develop skills and identify areas to focus improvement on.

To support this Plymouth Basketball Club have purchased a Veo camera for the use of their junior teams. Used by teams such as the NBA Academy and G-League, Sierra Canyon High School (where LeBron James’ son Bronny James plays) and the FA, the Veo camera records the entire court all at once.

Where normal video capture solely follows the ball, potentially leaving out several players in the frame, Veo offers coaches the opportunity to look at all 10 players on the court, at all times, regardless of where they are via the Interactive View mode.

Coaches can then ‘tag’ players in highlights on top of automated highlights that are generated by Veo. Coaches can also make comments for the team and players to help them reach their full potential. In addition, players can also create their own personal highlights and download and share their amazing moments!

Ben Roper, Head of Coaching and Player Development said

“We are really excited about what this will bring to players within our programme. We have used video in the past and found this beneficial. With the use of the Veo camera we can streamline this process for players and coaches to improve our video analysis set up.

We recognise that this will help aid players when developing their skills but also there are social benefits, such as sharing clips with family and friends and educationally, when needing content for GCSE, BTEC or A-Level Sport subjects. I am really pleased we have been able to make this investment to support the young people within our club. We look forward to them sharing their highlights as we use this throughout the second half of the season!”

The club are already in possession of the camera and players will be receiving their sign up links through TeamApp, if they haven’t already.
